• OUr First Completed Shopfront

16-20 High Street

This later 19th century block was built as shops at ground floor level with accommodation above. It is constructed of granite ashlar blocks and was again constructed in front of a courtyard building, only the remanence of which remains at the rear of the property.

The Project

The property had roof repairs carried out, including repair and stabilisation of the chimneys. The gutters and down pipes were overhauled. The building re-pointing in lime to the rear and a selection of windows replaced with timber sash and case, the remaining being painted. The shop front at lower level was also replaced, the remainder repaired, and a new traditional hand painted signage installed. The original pend gate was also reinstated and the pend itself harled and repointed in lime.
