John Trail Hotel (Former Book Shop)

This property had sat derelict following a fire and the closing of the Former John Trail Book Shop. Following consultation with the community the decision was taken to progress with hotel accommodation and feasibility studies were carried out to establish the demand for accommodation in the town.

The property was purchased by the Northeast of Scotland Preservation Trust (NESPT) who were able to raise the additional funding required from the Place Based Investment Fund to fully restore and convert the buildings. They now have an 11-bedroom boutique hotel which they are looking to lease to an operator.
